Mini-Aortic Valve Replacement versus Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation: A Propensity-Matched Study

چکیده
Background. Total sternotomy for aortic valve replacement has been superseded by less invasive approaches such as mini-sternotomy or transcatheter procedures. There an exponential uptake in implantation (TAVI) younger and lower risk patients following recent randomized trials. This study aims to compare the outcomes of with stenosis treated minimally approaches: (mini-AVR) TAVI implantation. Methods. Between January 2015 December 2021, a total 1437 176 mini-AVR from 2 tertiary centers fulfilled criteria were included propensity matching model. Results. A 256 TAVIs 146 matched cohort. was no significant difference 30-day mortality two groups (TAVI vs. 2.7% 2.8%, p = 0.935 ). confers slightly gradients follow-up echo when compared (peak gradient 20 ± 8.7 mmHg 24.5 10 mmHg, id="M2"> < 0.001 ; mean 10.9 5.6 13.2 5.7 id="M3"> On other hand, exhibits remarkably rates paravalvular leak (mild 8% 41.5%, id="M4"> moderate 2.8% 0%, id="M5"> ) need permanent pacemaker (2% 12.2%, id="M6"> Unsurprisingly, in-hospital stay 3 (2 6) days (8 13) days, id="M7"> Conclusions. For eligible 7th decade life, remains excellent therapeutic option.

Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement: A Review Article
Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is a novel therapeutic intervention for the replacement of severely stenotic aortic valves in high-risk patients for standard surgical procedures. Since the initial PARTNER trial results, use of TAVR has been on the rise each year. New delivery methods and different valves have been developed and modified in order to promote the minimally invasive p...

AIMS To evaluate the outcome of transapical aortic valve implantation (TA-AVI) in comparison to conventional surgery. METHODS AND RESULTS One hundred consecutive high-risk patients with symptomatic aortic valve stenosis received TA-AVI using the Edwards SAPIEN pericardial xenograft between February 2006 and January 2008. Patient age was 82.7 +/- 5 years, 77 were females, logistic EuroSCORE pr...

Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation
A 97-year-old man was referred for assessment to our transcather aortic valve implantation (TAVI) team. He had suffered multiple hospitalizations for heart failure with a signifi cantly elevated BNP at 1830 pg/mL. At the time of assessment, he had grade IV New York Heart Association (NYHA) symptoms. Until recently, he had been working actively, but this had subsequently been severely limited by...

Calcific aortic stenosis (AS) is the most common form of degenerative heart valve disease in developed countries. AS predominantly affects the elderly with a prevalence of 4% in people over the age of 80 years. With increasing longevity and an ageing population the absolute number of people afflicted with AS is set to rise. The clinical course of the disease is insidious at first (Ross & Braunw...
